What is STAR?
STAR provides online access for individual researchers from emerging regions to support writing and publication.
This Taylor & Francis initiative, undertaken in collaboration with our learned society, professional association, and co-publishing partners, provides one month's FREE access to over 1,500 leading international and regional journals. Coverage spans Arts and Humanities, Social and Behavioural Sciences, Biological and Physical Sciences. STAR aims to:
- enable researchers to enrich findings and update references;
- contribute towards higher levels of article acceptance;
- encourage informed debate in the worldwide academic community;
- foster strong research activity.
STAR provides access to a full range of Taylor & Francis journal titles and imprints, complementing existing initiatives such as Research4Life which targets specific subject areas.

How does STAR work?
STAR is currently available to researchers in Africa, in South Asia, and many parts of South East Asia. It uses an innovative voucher system - once the voucher has been downloaded it can be activated when needed, fitting in with the researcher's requirements to take advantage of FREE access for up to a month.
